Dhouha is a passionate Women's and Gender Studies student at the University of Windsor. She has been involved in a number of social advocacy projects and initiatives on and off-campus. Dhouha brought the UN Women campaign, HeForShe to the University of Windsor back in April 2014 which is an initiative that seeks to engage men and boys in talking about gender inequalities and encourages them to take action against negative inequalities faced by girls and women in their community.
In previous years, Dhouha was the president of Women In Leadership which is a student group that encourages young women to take on leadership roles on campus and in their future career choices. In addition, she was an active member of the working committee on the sexual violence policy at UWindsor, this is a stand-alone policy drafted by members of the University of Windsor senate from 2015-2016. Currently, Dhouha is a member of the Women's Studies Advisory Committee as a student representative. She is a writer and editor for HerCampus and is actively involved in many feminist groups because she believes that women are entitled to the same economic, social, and political advantages as men. Dhouha hopes to continue to engage the University of Windsor student body in breaking down barriers through open discussion and dialogue.
Dhouha looks forward to promoting the $15 and Fairness campaign and towards allowing students to have their voices heard through this campaign because she believes that precarious work and the marginalization of Canadians in the workplace affects all members of society.
