DR. KAREN ROLAND
In my current role as the Faculty's Experiential Learning Specialist, I consult and collaborate with teacher candidates, faculty, and our school partners, as a resource to assist in the development of strategies and programming to address equity and social justice issues in teacher education. I hold peer-reviewed publications, have made professional presentations, and have published teaching materials in the area of social justice and equity in education. My research interests align with the philosophy and tenets of social justice and equity, and include: social justice education, educational equity, teacher education, restorative justice, and educational policy and administration. As the former Acting Dean, my role was to ensure the academic vitality and operational viability of the Faculty of Education and Academic Development.
