Ms. Janet Tower has been in the education field since 1980. She earned her BA in English and Sociology and her teaching certification from Central Michigan University and was awarded a Masters in Humanities from the same institution. She has taught in Michigan at various secondary schools for over twenty years and has also taught in international schools in Kuwait and Kosovo. In addition to teaching, Ms. Tower has been a leader in curriculum reform in various Michigan schools, has been a trainer in writing assessment, and has taught extensive classes in preparing for standardized tests. She has also served as committee chair for the writing accreditation committee for a Michigan school and also served on an accreditation certification committee for the North Central Association, an accrediting body. Ms. Tower taught Advanced Placement English for seven years. She served as the Language Arts Coordinator at the American School in Kosova and has extensive experience as a theater and drama director, directing over twenty productions. In addition, she has served as a committee member for the Kosovar and Regional Student Conference about Social Issues for the past two years. She also was assistant coach for a Model UN team in 2009.
