Together We Flourish is so excited to reveal the murals of youth participating in the Breaking Barriers Mural Contest! The block party will run from 2 pm - 6 pm and feature many activities for youth and families. After the judging at 4 pm, awards will be distributed.
Last May, Together We Flourish obtained a Laidlaw foundation grant to complete "Breaking Barriers: A Windsor Mural Project." The pieces of public art are meant to generate community dialogue about relevant issues experienced by youth.
Participants from Westview Highschool, The Bloomfield House, and Women Working With Immigrant Women have illustrated their perceptions of Windsor over the past month, and the murals will be revealed at this upcoming block party.
To acknowledge the lived realities these young participants want to publicize, we are inviting community members to celebrate - and even help determine the third prize winner! (While we have a panel of judges for first and second place, third place is the crowds choice!!!)
Please come on out and support these youth describe the Windsor they know.
